WASTE & RECYCLING ADVENTURE CENTER

Our 7,000-square-foot Waste & Recycling Adventure Center offers an immersive, hands-on experience designed to bring recycling and waste management to life. Featuring 20 interactive activities, the space allows students, community groups, and residents to explore how materials are sorted, processed, and reused.

Visitors can engage with exhibits that highlight our locations and services across Baldwin County, while also viewing the Green Machine in action from a dedicated observation area. Originally designed to support 5th and 10th grade learning standards, the center is accessible, engaging, and educational for visitors of all ages.

Coming soon to schools and community events across Baldwin County, our mobile Waste & Recycling Adventure Center brings hands-on learning directly to you. Designed for classrooms, festivals, and community gatherings, this interactive trailer helps Baldwin County residents see what really happens after the bin is rolled to the curb through engaging, age-appropriate exhibits and activities.

MEET SALTY

Salty is a fun and familiar face you will spot throughout our facilities and materials. As our official mascot, Salty represents our commitment to protecting Baldwin County’s environment and making recycling education engaging for all ages.

When you visit our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), be sure to keep an eye out. Salty is hidden throughout the Education Center in a unique, interactive experience designed for visitors.

Each one is tucked into artwork and displays across the space, encouraging you to explore, learn, and take a closer look at how recycling works in our community. It is a great activity for students, families, and anyone who enjoys a challenge while discovering something new.
